| Events for 2007 were off to a great start when a capacity crowd hit Silom Soi 4 on Saturday for the Opening Night party, which also featured the Mr Pride Contest. Photos are here. That followed the annual Bowling Competition earlier the same day with 48 participants chasing after the winning trophies.
Thanks to the generosity of Loy Nava who donated a cruise boat, complete with meals and wine, Pride participants enjoyed an evening cruise along the Chao Phrya River and helped to raise 66800 baht for Pride charities. Bookings were so heavy that many were regretfully turned away.
The Balcony Pub's annual Isaan Party attracted a capacity crowd to enjoy the Singing & Dancing Balcony Waiters in bizarre kilt-like outfits, with live shows presented by the irrepressible Neung in traditional costume. Diners were treated to freshly made traditional north-eastern food, with a beer thrown in.
Rachada Soi 8 Pub packed the house with young Thais dancing their hearts out to sounds by famous DJ Dome, who kept the walls vibrating all night.
Both the final Saturday night parties went off with a bang. Silom Soi 4 outdid themselves with a Miss Jumbo Contest, attraction more than 20 cuddly bundles of fun seeking the coveted Miss Jumbo title.
While the flesh was wobbling in Soi 4, the Pride Bash was in full "Swing" in Silom Soi 2/1, with booths selling beer, cocktails, Babylon memberships, live entertainment, followed by a night of fun shows in GOD led by SWING who produced a very professional line-up, with the Beach Group's singers and dancers following up.

7 August 2007. Pride Festival has announced that the supported charities for 2007 will be Faisiroong (Rainbow Sky), and Swing, both of which recently lost some external funding.
Faisiroong is Thailand’s only officially recognised gay support group, working to educate the public about gay issues, gays about their rights and responsibilities, and spreading the word about HIV/AIDS prevention.
Swing are a hard working outreach group dedicated to assisting and educating ’service workers’ about sexual health in general and HIV in particular, and of course promoting safe sex under every circumstance.
Pride have also confirmed more events for November 3-11 PrideWeek, including the annual Long Yang Club sponsored Bowling Tournament on November 3, Hamilton’s Karaoke Contest on November 4; Loy Nava Dinner River Cruise on November 7, and the Pride Bash at G.O.D. on November 10. More events for that week will announced shortly too.
River cruise firm Loy Nava have generously donated an evening dinner cruise on November 7 in support of Bangkok’s Pride Festival.
Loy Nava are unrivalled in the dinner cruise market on the Chao Phrya River, operating beautifully converted rice barges along the city’s scenic waterway, while cruisers enjoy absolutely fabulous (really!) food and attentive service in a great atmosphere.
| | PRIDE 2006 AGM January 28
 The Pride Festival Annual General Meeting was held at The National Human Rights Commission office in Phayatai Road, Bangkok on Sunday January 28.
The two Co-chairs were Ajaarn Wiroj from Rainbow Sky and Khun Danny from the Beach Group. Khun Tai and Khun Anjaree acted as hosts, and presented a great slide presentation showing the exciting events from over the last year.
 According to the owner of one popular gay pub, 2006 Pride was the best ever. More than 50 sponsors had signed up, while the Lumpini Park event had more booths than ever before, and several exciting live entertainment groups. The Health Faire was also a great success with over 20 NGO’s participating. The Pride Parade, held along Silom and Suriwong Roads, was the largest ever, and last several hours.
The 2006 committee stepped down and nominations and volunteers for 2007 were asked for. There are 13 members so far for 2007, with several more being considered. The new line-up will be presented at the next meeting, scheduled for February 19. Pride Festival is also looking for a new webmaster and 2 writers (1 Thai & 1 English).
Over 600,000 baht was raised tough sponsorship fees, donations, fund raisers and other events. The expenses for running pride, park and parade was a little over 400,000 baht, and so far over 200,000 baht has been donated to charity. The final selection for charity donation will be voted on at the next meeting. Thanks to all for your fantastic support to help make Pride Festival 2006 the most successful ever!
