Bangkok – Following the arrest of a Thai man several months ago, police have closed down a number of Thai language gay porn websites and arrested the operators.

The investigation began when a man was arrested in Pattaya on suspicion of being a pedophile pimp, and developments included the charging of Russian musician Mikhail Pletnev with molesting two boys, Pletnev denies the charges and is currently on bail.

Police now claim that a number of gay porn websites have been used over the last 10 years as a front for pedophile sex trade. A raid on a house i Bangkok’s Don Muang district netted four arrests, and the confiscation of computers, DVDs, paper records, cameras, video recorders, and other equipment. The owner of the numerous websites is reported to be 48 year old Khun Kanphon Chinchayaphorn, known as Lung Max, who turned himself into police.

All the arrested have been charged with participating in providing illegal services or products via the internet and participating in the distribution, public broadcasting and/or possession of pornographic media. They may also face child trafficking charges later. The investigation is ongoing.
